We’ve all heard this crap around “Attraction Marketing” haven’t we? And in all honesty, most of it is absolute crap (apologies to anyone reading this who may be teaching it). The 2006 movie “The Secret” was widely criticized owing to the fact they missed the most important part of the process and that is – taking action. You can have the prettiest Facebook presence, receive tonnes of likes and comments and shares and have a following of hundreds of thousands, but if you are not monetizing it, what is the point exactly? Having positive thoughts is only one step in building a successful business. Thinking we can sit at home all day meditating thinking that we are attracting the perfect clients to us is not going to increase our bank balance.

I have spoken to so many Network Marketers over the years’ who complain about not making any money. When I delve a little deeper to find out why, it’s pretty simple. They aren’t actually doing anything! It’s like they are waiting for some magical person to bump into who will instantly love their products and opportunity. Sorry folks – it ain’t going to happen! You HAVE to be proactive. The ones who are making the big bucks are the ones who are creating it that way and making things happen – not simply waiting. Most Network Marketers are not having 10 – 20 conversations daily about their business and the reality is, those are the magical numbers. You need to be talking to around 10 – 20 people daily about your products and/or opportunity if you want to be making sales weekly. It’s simple, but obviously not easy and most people are not prepared to do what it takes.

So I hear you asking, but Fiona where am I going to find 10 – 20 people daily to talk to?? And here is where your Facebook Business Page comes in. Now this is a training all unto itself so I’m going to break down what needs to be done daily, however for greater detail tune in to my upcoming Masterclass about this – registration is now open and the link is below.

Firstly, you need to be posting around 4 times daily on your Facebook Page – 5 maximum. No more than that otherwise people will get the sense that you are desperate. Those 5 posts should consist of two value posts and these both need to have consumable content. I like to share content from other sites as it shows humility. If you are posting your blog posts daily it looks arrogant – like you have all of the answers and you don’t. But once or twice a week of your own blog posts is definitely okay. A motivational quote is a definite and I use Canva so I can pop in my website onto the image. Always include some of your own text at the top of this type of post as well as it relates to you. Doesn’t need to be more than a single line. I don’t use Hootsuite or those other automated systems as it looks lazy and like you don’t really care. Make sure it is you that is posting otherwise people will feel a little disconnected.

Secondly, make sure you include lifestyle posts daily. Where you are, who you are with, what you are doing. Make sure though it is all about lifestyle. That is what people want to see. They want to see you working at the beach or a resort or at the airport. Most people want to travel and want to be able to choose when and where they work so make it look like you’ve got it figured and can show them how they too can have that lifestyle.

Thirdly, always answer comments and not just with a like, love, wow or whatever. Actually comment back and make sure you tag them so they get notified and by using their name, you are making them feel good too.

Fourthly, always respond to people’s comments with a love or wow emoji. Stop using the like button – period. Even if you are mindlessly scrolling through your feed, NEVER use the like button. It screams spammer to Facebook and they don’t like it, so get into the habit of using love and wow instead. Especially on those who comment on your posts.

Fifth and lastly, message people directly. This is the secret sauce folks. Every single person who likes, shares or comments on one of your posts – reach out to them personally. Thank them so much for liking, sharing or commenting. Let them know you really appreciate them and hope they are liking your posts. THEN, ask them a question like “how’s your day so far?” or “how’s things over there in Canada?” Don’t wish them a great day, instead ask them a question because by doing so you are inviting conversation. And once they reply, you can start that conversation, prospect them and then who knows?

Our business is all about building relationships – not sales. The only way you can do that is by having conversations. You can’t find out about a person or what they need or want unless you ask them. People just mistakenly believe that by putting up a FB Business Page and posting all of their company messages and products and opportunity stuff all over it, they think that those who like the Page will magically message them asking for whatever it is they are spruking. It might, but really – do you think Bill Gates and Steve Jobs created their software and computer and then sat in their garages waiting for the phone to ring? Of course they didn’t – they went out there and talked to people. And that is your job too. If you are not having those 10 – 20 conversations every single day, then I’m sorry to tell you but money will continue to elude you. It sounds crazy simple because it is. Try it. Today and let me know your results. The more people you talk to, the higher the chances of bringing someone into your team. It really is as simple as that.
