If you work a job, there will be unending negative distractions. Good old office politics. You just found out the new guy is getting paid more than you and he is younger with less experience. Or the co-worker who does less work than you, has been there less time than you that you are suddenly now reporting to. And why is it that girl in the other deparment just got a huge cash bonus? All sound familiar? Well you need to deliberately distract and distance yourself from all of the office gossip and bantering and forge your own path. Choose to not participate in any discussions relating to other staff and what they earn, do etc. Just purely focus on what you are doing. You can control that. Immerse yourself in your own work and if possible find some personal development that you can either listen to on your phone, iPod or PC and just switch off to the chatter. And if you run an online business, focus on that. When we get caught up in the downward spiral of the 98%ers, we become them. So ask yourself – is that where you want to be?
