Are you still struggling to make any money? Are you frustrated with the amount of rejection you are going through? Spending copious amounts of money on marketing with little to no response? It could be because you are using old and antiquated ways of doing business. I’m seeing this a lot right now. And that’s okay – so long as you can recognize it for what it is and move on quickly. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result – right? So why would you keep spending your time and time for little to no reward? You wouldn’t – plain and simple.
I do not wish to turn this article into a marketing training exercise, however I thought I would just share 5 quick tips to help you identify if your business is in the 21st century or not. It is my hope that you can take at least one nugget of info away that if you implemented it today, would make huge transformations in your business, confidence and hopefully profit. Here we go:
- Social Media. This is absolutely number 1. Facebook in particular has over 1 billion registered users now. As a business owner you would be completely crazy not to capitalize on the biggest online hangout in the world would you not? Most if not all of your prospects and/or customers are right here I can pretty much guarantee it. And it doesn’t take much to tap into it. Same goes for Twitter, You Tube, Instagram and Linked In. They are all easy to sign up and get started and there are so many great resources online that will teach you how to dominate social media. www.ARealChange.com is a great one to start with. www.LifeChangeTheRevolution.com is another fantastic resource on how to become a thought leader in your particular field. Get the training and get into it!
- Meet Ups. Now I know this is somewhat controversial, however let me tell you, where I attend them in Melbourne, Meet Ups are big business. I know people who have profited tens of thousands of dollars through regularly attending Meet Up groups. I know of heaps of MLMers who only prospect via Meet Ups. Now I don’t recommend you do that, however I do highly recommend you find some groups to join that are business based, perhaps in your particular product niche, and start getting yourself out there. Some MLM groups even hold Meet Ups as business opportunity presentations. I myself have found many Joint Venture partners just by doing this and that is not only rocking my credibility in the market place, but most certainly cementing me as a mover and shaker in the industry. Take the time out one night a week to do it.
- Blogging. I can’t promote this practise highly enough. And seriously it does not matter if you think you can’t write very well. You have a wealth of knowledge that others don’t – believe me. Feel free to read my other blog posts and you will see that I just write straight from the heart. Whatever comes to me on a particular day. There are many blogs on different topics and many that are just screaming for content. I personally write for two magazines and around 4 or more online blogs. You don’t know if that tiny little tip you share could totally transform someone’s day, life, business – whatever. So start a blog. I would recommend a WordPress site and get started writing. You just don’t know who will start reading it, recommending it, where you will end up being published but it will do one thing – establish you as a leader in your field.
- Online ads. Now I don’t mean the same crap that most other Networkers are doing advertising for people to join their opportunity. That really is so 10 – 20 years ago. So just stop it. Online ads such as Facebook Ads, Linked In Ads, Google Adwords and Bing Ads are probably the big ones and you should be sending people to your blog first and foremost – NOT, I repeat NOT your business opportunity landing page. For starters both Google and Facebook will not run your ads if you try that. Sadly due to the amount of spamming that goes on in our industry, both Google and Facebook have blacklisted Networkers. So you have be smarter about it. Sending people to your blog to grab your freebie/lead magnet helps to build your database and position you as an expert. It will attract people to you as the “go to” person in your niche. The process may take a little longer, but you will end up with a lot higher qualified leads.
- Free webinars. You can run these via Meet Up if you like – I know many do, however it’s not essential. Give heaps and heaps and heaps of value. Again, position yourself as an expert in your niche. People just love free stuff these days and if you can give regular free webinars promoted via the above means and delivered through your blog and really give solutions to people’s pain points, people will keep coming back and will love you. Particularly if you give away a free cheat sheet, work book, check list, report etc at the end of the webinar. Drive them to something in order to build your list or get them to take action on something specific.
Well, these are just some of the lead generation strategies that new age Networkers are utilizing to build their businesses. Remember that around 80% of Facebook users browse it via a mobile device so ensure you are always keeping that in mind with respect to your blog being mobile friendly and your ads also.
